Can you believe that? Hahaha...
Anyhow, as we are on the topic, let's just proceed on it further, shall we?
TOP 10 : HORNIEST COUNTRIES
That was the article from AskMen.com that the dude was commenting on...
And as the list goes (sorry for repeating the already known):
10. Mexico 9 . Switzerland 8 . Spain 7 . Malaysia 6 . Italy 5 . Poland 4 . China 3 . Russia 2 . Brazil 1 . Greece
The post (sorry for not making links for this one as it leads to mancouch, and I just don't link a couch) made a point that it was surprising that the land of sex comedies and porn didn't even make the top 10....
And many of the comments actually agreed! Hahaha (I don't know why I'm laughing at this, but I trully did laugh, and still am)...
Apparently many comments pointed out "how surprising" it is that the US, and the land of the perv, ie. Japan, did not even appear in the list... (The original article itself also put the UK as the country "surprisingly" not in the top 10)
I guess somehow they forgot that the ranking thing was done on the overall frequency of the countries' citizen are having sex, rather than watch porn, or talk about sex, or brag about sex, or, in the case of the land of the perv, put on cameras on the shoes to see up girls' skirts, etc etc.... (Okay, I hope I didn't hurt anyone's feeling with such statement... If you are new to my posts, you should read most of my post with a laugh rather than with all seriousness)
Note: Whatever I will continue to write does not in any way say that a survey such as this is totally accurate or whatever... But rather just making a sense of it all...
Okay, here's the thing... Of course some of the countries in the top 10 there that seems like they don't belong there, for the reasons like, they are much more conservative than the US... But sometimes the same logic does not apply in different parts of the world...
Here I'm gonna speak from a perspective of a citizen of a coutry that is generally much more conservative, or "less open" to stuff associated with sex, as compared to the US in general... Oh yeah, and my country did appear in the top 10 list...
We generally (still) have a very "strong" opinion about marriage... Meaning, sex before marriage or outside marriage is definitely a big No-No.... (I put that "still" in bracket because the signs are showing a tendency to emulate the US bit by bit)... Now this would seem to be a negative push for the country down the order of the list... But, on the contrary, the number of marriage (in percentage or whatever) is definitely higher... And (I'm gonna make a hasty generalisation here based on the hollywood movies I watched), unlike in the US, the married couples here do actually "get some"... Well, maybe "get a lot of that some".... Thus a push up in the overall ranking order...
Now lets take a look at a different point of view...
How come countries such as the US and Japan are not as active (relatively) in sex?
Okay, one, perhaps the sex industry like porn is quite rampant, thus the decline in the frequency of actual sex... (because people watch more instead of doing)
Second, I guess it is like how it is quite different in my own country between the urban areas and the "less developed" areas (by "less developed" I don't mean poor, but just not "urban" enough, and I don't know how to label it)... We were puzzled some times ago on why the trend of having double digit number of children by parents happens much much much more frequent in the "less urban" (lets call it that) areas...
The general trend is that the posh people tend to have less number of kids, while the people on the opposite of the spectrum are having a lot... In my family circle too, which can be said to be in the spectrum of "middle class professionals", the average number of kids in a family is around six to seven...
So why is this?, we asked...
And someone gave a "great" answer for this...
For "rich" people, they are busy with the work of harvesting wealth... They are mentally occupied all the times, even at home (a generalisation of business people)... And at home, they have all the entertainment they can have, like TV etc... So they can release the tension with all the entertainment they want...
On the other hand, the "poor" people when they got back home, they have no such entertainment available... It's night... No TV to watch... So what to do? Yeah, what else =) It's even more frequent for those who even have limited light source at home... No electricity... Only have that light/burner using gasoline or something... So the kids go to sleep early... It's dark... Want some entertainment... What else is the option, other than that =)
And thus the general trend mentioned....
Hmmm, I guess this should be enough for a post that is kinda "response post" in a way...
Anyway, it is funny how the original article describe how my country to be, and I quote:
In public, this country definitely appears conservative. ........ However, behind closed doors lies (pun totally intended) the real story: Malaysians are swinging from the bedposts, and loving every minute of it.
Hahaha....
